We object because the proposed development does not take account of East Dunbartonshire Council’s Local Development Plan

The Council’s Local Development Plan for the area states:

  1. There should be no more than 95 homes on this site; with only 35 on the former Cadder sewage works (Scottish Government Reporter 2011).
  2. Design should be low density, yet the proposal is for 136 homes (around 430 bedrooms).
  3. Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) sets out safeguarding provisions for outdoor sports facilities, yet there is no consideration in the plans to mitigate the loss of the free football pitch.
